The evolution of immigration in Spain and the labour market

As a general introduction, this paper reviews the evolution and characteristics of the immigrant population resident in Spain and shows the dissociation between the reality shown by the data and the erroneous perception a large section of the public holds of it. The employment situation of the foreign population is also approached, with particular attention given to the characteristics of their situations of employment or unemployment, and especially where they differ to the native population.
