6th International Seminar on Security and Defence in the Mediterranean. Human Security
A collection of the addresses, interventions and reports presented at the 6th International Seminar on Security and Defence in the Mediterranean, held in Barcelona on 5-6 November 2007. The volume includes a summary of the progress made in different cooperation initiatives (the Barcelona Process, the European Neighbourhood Policy, 5+5, NATO's Mediterranean Dialogue and the ESDP), as well as analysing different regional perspectives with respect to the scenario of security and insecurity in the Mediterranean. The work also includes reflections on the application of the concept of human security in the Mediterranean in areas such as the reform of the security sector, civil-military cooperation and the connections between security and fundamental freedoms.
