From South to South: Senegalese transmigratory movements towards Argentina

This article analyses Senegalese migration to Argentina, understood here as “South-South migration” because the countries involved, Senegal and Argentina, are low and medium income countries, respectively, between whom historical, cultural and economic ties do not exist (in accordance with the International Organization of Migration’s definition). In this context, this study focusses on the formation of a transnational Senegalese space as a fabric that unites the community in various countries through which flows of money, goods and cultural and religious products circulate.
