Fifth edition of CIDOB and Banco Sabadell Foundation “Programa Talent Global”: a commitment to young research talent

The Banco Sabadell Foundation and CIDOB (Barcelona Center for International Affairs) launch the fifth edition of the Programa Talent Global with the aim of promoting quality research by young researchers through two paid research stays.

CIDOB (Barcelona Centre for International Affairs), with the support of the Banco Sabadell Foundation, announces the fifth edition of Programa Talent Global. As a novelty, this new edition will offer two paid research stays for young researchers.

The Junior Visiting Fellowship is aimed at two young researchers up to the age of 30 who have demonstrated research capabilities and would join CIDOB’s research team for a period of six months through a paid research stay.

Requirements

  • Be up to 30 years old as of 31 December 2025
  • Possess research skills and the ability to contribute to the publications of a think tank
  • Have a high level of English
  • Hold a valid work permit for the EU
  • Hold a degree related to the themes of the call. A master’s degree will be considered an asset.

Application process

The call for applications will open after 11 April 2025.

The deadline for applications is 30 June 2025.

Applications must include a CV, a cover letter, and a research proposal (maximum 1 page, including expected publications) and should be sent to seleccio@cidob.org with the subject “Junior Visiting Fellowship”.

Selection process and notification

The selection of candidates will be carried out through an open call, following CIDOB’s established recruitment channels, procedures, and criteria. Finalist candidates will be contacted for a personal interview during the first half of July 2025.

The final decision will be communicated during the second half of July 2025.

The research placement will last six months and will take place between early September 2025 and late February 2026.

Fellowship details

The Fellowship will offer the two selected candidates the opportunity to join CIDOB’s research team for a period of six months (to be determined between the institution and the fellows) on a full-time, in-person basis. The selected candidates will receive a gross remuneration of €13,000, plus compensation at the end of the contract as per applicable labour regulations.

The aim of the placement is to enable the selected researchers to develop their research with the support of a CIDOB researcher. The selected fellows will participate in the institution’s research activities and contribute to one of its editorial lines and/or external publications. They will also take part in seminars and conferences organised by the institution.

Data protection

Applicants’ data will be processed in order to manage the selection process. The responsible party for the data processing is CIDOB (Barcelona Centre for International Affairs). The legal basis for the data processing is the consent given when submitting the application. The data will not be transferred to third parties, other than to meet CIDOB's legal or contractual obligations. The data and CVs of unsuccessful candidates will be destroyed within a maximum period of six months after the resolution of the call.
