Javier Borràs Arumí

Javier Borràs Arumí is a researcher at CIDOB, working in the Europe area and focusing on European politics and the intersection between technology and democracy. He is also interested in investigating how the emergence of alternative political, economic and technological systems (especially the case of China) may impact the future of Europe and its citizens.
He has worked in the field of research at IESE Business School's PPP for Cities, as an external consultant for the European Commission, and as a researcher at the Center for the Study of Democracy in Bulgaria. He also worked as a correspondent for Agencia EFE in Beijing and has collaborated as a columnist for newspapers such as El País, Diari ARA, El Mundo and La Vanguardia.
He holds a Master's degree in Public Policy from University College London and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, with a year of academic exchange at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
