“What is Going on in the World?” Public Controversies over Group Rights for Muslims in Europe: Gaps between non-Muslims and Muslims
Cross-national variations in context have been studied by looking at policy approaches and public debates over the accommodation of Islam. The aim of the event will be to examine to what degree and how these ‘official’ stances over the accommodation of Islam are reflected in the ‘gaps’ between non-Muslims and Muslims over the issues.

The conference will be given by Paul Statham, Professor of Migration and Director of the Sussex Centre for Migration Research in the School of Global Studies at the University of Sussex, that will discuss with John Palmer, Marie Curie Researcher at GRITIM – UPF (Interdisciplinary Research Group on Immigration). The debate will be moderated by Ricard Zapata-Barrero, director of GRITIM-UPF (Interdisciplinary Research Group on Immigration) and senior researcher at the Department of Political and Social Sciences.
