March 29, 2019, the date foreseen by the United Kingdom to abandon the European Union, is approaching. Yet Brussels and London seem far from an agreement on the terms of the exit and the future relation. The discrepancies between Theresa May and the hard-liners of the Conservative Party diminish the credibility of the British executive in the negotiation process. Instead, the member states of the Union have kept firm and are reluctant to extend the negotiations after November. If there is no agreement by then, there will not be enough time for the British and European parliaments to ratify the agreement. This conference will analyse the state of the negotiations, explore the prospects for an agreement and discuss the guidelines for the EU-Britain relation after the Brexit. Furthermore, it will examine possible scenarios that could alter the prospects for Brexit, like early general elections in the United Kingdom or the possibility of a second Brexit referendum.
