Location:

CIDOB’s YouTube channel

Organized by:

CIDOB (Barcelona Centre for International Affairs) with the support of the U.S. Consulate General in Barcelona

The explosion of online disinformation has led a new social harm. Disinformation generates instability and erodes democracy, creates political polarisation, and harms social coexistence and consensus. Old-style propaganda has been exponentially amplified by technology and hyperconnectivity and its power and sophistication have multiplied. How can democracies deal with disinformation? How can resilience be built without limiting rights? We analyse it in this webinar with Katarína Klingová, Senior Research Fellow of the Centre for Democracy and Resilience at the GLOBSEC Policy Institute, Juan Luis Manfredi, Visiting Professor at the Walsh School of Foreign Service in Georgetown University, Martin Riedl, Postdoctoral Research Fellow of the Center for Media Engagement at the University of Texas, and Carme Colomina, Senior Research Fellow at CIDOB.
