Organized by:

CIDOB and the Jean Monnet Network on Atlantic Studies with the collaboration of the TTCSP program of the University of Pennsylvania.

On January 30, on the occasion of the launch of the 2017 Global Go To Think Tank Index of the University of Pennsylvania, CIDOB organises a debate about the links between energy and transport in the Atlantic. The debate will be attended by Paul Isbell, CAF Energy Fellow from Center for Transatlantic Relations at Johns Hopkins University; Andreas Kramer, founder and Director Emeritus of the Ecologic Institute; Jordi Bacaria, general director of CIDOB; and Natalia Soler-Huici, from the University of Iceland. All of them are co-authors of the book “Energy & Transportation in the Atlantic Basin” co-edited by Paul Isbell and Eloy Álvarez from of the Orkestra Institute of Competitiveness at the University of Deusto. This book is the result of the first year of the Project Jean Monnet Network on Atlantic Studies coordinated by the Getulio Vargas Foundation of Brazil.

This debate is aimed at giving visibility to the role played by think tanks in our society, which is precisely the topic of this year's 2017 Global Go To Think Tank Index, directed by Dr. James G. McGann. This Index ranks global leading think tanks in different categories and is designed to identify centres of excellence in key areas of public policy research and in every region of the world. Thus, CIDOB consolidates its collaboration with this initiative along with more than 100 governmental and non-governmental organisations around the world. All these centres will analyse the main results and developments in the most recent edition of the Index on the same day of its publication.
