CIDOB and UNHCR in the framework of the NIEM project
Over the next five years, the NIEM project aims to develop a mechanism for assessing integration policies for asylum seekers and beneficiaries of international protection. Following the MIPEX model, this mechanism will measure and compare policies in 16 different European countries. The ultimate objective is to identify legislative and implementation gaps and measure progress both in policy development and in the integration of refugees.
In the framework of this project, CIDOB, the project leader in Spain, organises a meeting with main civil society organisations dealing with the situation of refugees. The objectives are, on the one hand, to publicise the NIEM project and, on the other, jointly discuss how to make this project land in the reality of management, so that the data and analysis that are produced are useful for all assistants.
The meeting will be hosted by UNHCR, a NIEM partner organisation. The presentation of the project and the moderation will be carried out by Blanca Garcés Mascareñas and Elena Sánchez Montijano, senior researchers at CIDOB and leaders of the project in Spain.
