Greece and the EU: Contrasting Views Towards a Reformed Agenda

Expert workshop on the transformation of the Greek and European political scenes after the Euro crisis.

Location:

CIDOB, sala Jordi Maragall, Elisabets 12,08001 Barcelona

Organized by:

CIDOB with the support of the Europe for Citizens programme

The aim of the workshop is to analyse the transformation of the narratives on Europe and Greece as a consequence of the Greek crisis and the reform proposals that have been put forward both in Athens and Brussels. A departing premise of the workshop is that the Greek crisis has led to the transformation of the political discourse on Europe of the main political forces in Greece and the Syriza government, which has also tried to transform the policies and priorities of the Eurozone after the crisis. Similarly, the European Union has a different vision of itself in the aftermath of the Greek crisis and has put forward a series of reforms to reshape the economic and financial foundations of the Eurozone and the Union at large.
